Honoring Bre: This October, Let Your Words & Actions Make a Difference
As we enter October—a month often dominated by conversations about breast cancer—I want to take a moment to honor my incredible friend Bre. Together, we co-created a movement called Take 3 For Me, aimed at empowering individuals to feel recharged and refocused. We also launched the Take 3 For Me Journal, now available on Amazon, which serves as a tool for reflection and growth.
Earlier this year, we faced the heartbreaking reality of losing Bre to her ongoing battle with breast cancer. Yet, in this moment of remembrance, I want to share the extraordinary spirit and unwavering positivity that defined her life.
Bre’s journey with cancer was far from easy, and she faced many challenges. One pivotal moment was when a doctor told her she would never be considered a cancer survivor because her condition was deemed incurable. These words hit her hard, but instead of succumbing to despair, Bre chose to redefine her narrative. She began to proudly say, “I am Thriving With Cancer.” This simple shift in language was a powerful testament to her resilience and belief in the importance of mindset.
Bre taught me—and all who knew her—that how we talk to ourselves truly matters. No two circumstances are the same, and our mindset can profoundly influence our will, determination, and ultimately, our outcomes. Even in the face of adversity, she remained committed to positivity and self-empowerment, demonstrating that we can choose how to respond to life’s challenges.
As we reflect on Bre’s legacy this October, I hope we all take a moment to consider our own inner dialogues. Whether you’re navigating difficult times or simply going about your daily life, remember that words have the power to uplift or diminish.
Let’s honor Bre by practicing kindness towards ourselves and others, choosing words that inspire and uplift. In doing so, we can carry forward her incredible spirit and continue the mission of Take 3 For Me, encouraging everyone to find moments of recharge and focus.
Bre, your light continues to shine brightly in our hearts. Thank you for showing us the strength of a positive mindset and the importance of supporting one another through every challenge. Let’s keep thriving, just as you taught us to do.
